Tirpitz Bulkhead
This decorated bulkhead, recovered from the engine room of the Tirpitz, was presented to the RAF.
Both No. 9 and No. 617 Squadrons thought they should have it, as each claimed to have been responsible for sinking the Tirpitz, and the bulkhead changed ownership between the squadrons many times – usually by innovative and underhand means. The dispute was ended in 2002 when it was presented to the RAF Museum.
