Before joining the Royal Flying Corps, Thomas lost a leg serving with the Dorset Regiment during the Gallipoli Campaign in 1915. After training at the RAF Staff College in 1930, he specialised in logistics and became the RAF’s first Director of Equipment in 1942. This file discusses AVM Bowler’s career and hobbies.
