Lightning - Missile Firing Trials

Compilation of gun camera film and air-to-air footage in which English Electric Lightning fighter aircraft manoeuvre at altitude and at low level before launching air-to-air missiles at remote-controlled target aircraft.

A view of an English Electric Lightning fighter aircraft’s radar screen is followed by gun camera and air-to-air film of missile firings. Air-to-air film taken from below and behind a Lightning shows further missile firings and a missile is seen tracking an airborne target. Air-to-air film shows a Lightning manoeuvring low over the sea before firing a missile and a Lightning follows another Lightning closely as the two aircraft manoeuvre.
