Pilot's flying log book of 2nd Lieutenant Oliver Charles Pearson, 8 December 1916-9 September 1917
After completing his flying training in the UK, which included time with No.68 Australian Squadron, Pearson was posted to France to Join no.70 Squadron in August 1917.
On 20 August 1917, Pearson was injured when the engine of his Sopwith Camel failed. After a brief spell in hospital Pearson retuned to No.70 Squadron on 5 September, he was shot down only five days later by the German Ace Oberleutnant Werner Voss, Pearson's body was never recovered and he is remembered on the Arras Flying Services Memorial.
