Air Defence Cadet Corps, Cap Badge, 1938 Pattern
This badge was worn on the field service cap which formed part of the standard uniform of the Air Defence Cadet Corps.
Formed in 1938, the Air Defence Cadet Corps was a uniformed youth organisation which promoted an interest in flying and aviation related matters. It also prepared cadets for service life by encouraging discipline, teaching drill and allowing the cadets to participate in a wide range of sports. In 1941 the Cadet Corps was reorganised into the Air Training Corps which survives to this day.
