Head and Breast Set
This standard General Post Office equipment was widely used by RAF personnel during the Second World War. It enabled the wearer to make and receive calls while freeing their hands for other tasks.
The ability to communicate swiftly and accurately between different RAF Commands was vital, particularly during the Battle of Britain. Users of head and breast sets included telephonists, Operations Room Plotters and members of the Observer Corps.
