Hercules aircraft: Drills for parachute training - Part 2

Film in which British Army paratroopers make a training parachute jump from an RAF Hercules transport aircraft, carrying personal equipment and weapons containers. The sequence of pre-jump checks is illustrated.

An RAF officer explains how the film will focus on parachute jumps with suspended loads, such as the personal equipment and weapons container. An instructor checks trainees’ parachutes before a jump, further equipment checks are conducted while seated in a Hercules transport aircraft and final checks take place immediately before the jump. Paratroopers are then seen jumping in rapid succession, both from within the Hercules and in external air-to-air footage.
