RAF Camera Type F.24
In the 1920s the RAF developed a camera for aerial survey work, manufactured as the F.24 for the RAF and the Williamson Eagle III for the civil market.
The F.24 camera was similar to the larger F.8 but produced smaller negatives. It had a similar modular design consisting of a body, lens cone and film back. Its small size allowed it to be hand-held as well as fixed inside aircraft. The first examples were issued to the RAF for survey work in Iraq and surrounding countries in the 1930s.
