Flight Lieutenant Campbell - Fighter pilot saved by a rubber dinghy
Flight Lieutenant Campbell explains how he baled out over the English Channel and spent some time in his dinghy before being picked up by an RAF air sea rescue launch.
Flight Lieutenant Campbell explains how, after escorting Blenheims during a raid on Boulogne, he was shot down by Messerschmitt 109s. After baling out, landing in the English Channel and inflating his dinghy he avoided a German rescue aircraft by hiding in the water. He describes an engagement overhead between Spitfires, Hurricanes and Messerschmitt 109s and concludes his account by describing his eventual rescue by an RAF air sea rescue launch.
