Flight Lieutenant Miles describes an attack by Blenheims on a German merchant ship off the French coast. During the raid his aeroplane hit the sea, returning home despite damage.
Flight Lieutenant Miles explains the intention to destroy a German merchant ship in the English Channel. He describes the attack and explains how, while trying to evade anti-aircraft fire, his Blenheim hit the sea, losing a propeller. Despite the damage sustained Flight Lieutenant Miles climbed away on one engine and, with a Spitfire escort, return to an airfield on the coast of England where he made a belly-landing.
