Pilot Officer Potier explains how he was able to land his Catalina on rough seas and in high winds but then had difficulty in reaching a mooring buoy. After securing the Catalina with help from a boat, the crew spent the night onboard their aeroplane as the sea was too rough for them to be taken off.
