Recording in which Air Commodore Vernon Brown explains the importance of air accident investigation and the problems caused at crash sites by souvenir hunters.
Air Commodore Vernon Brown explains how an aeroplane broke up at high altitude, scattering wreckage over a wide area. Much of the debris was collected by souvenir hunters and Brown explains how this hinders the work of air accident investigators and potentially puts the lives of air crew at risk. He requests that people leave wreckage alone, inform the police and, if an eye-witness, make themselves known to investigators.
