Flight Lieutenant Gatward describes a low level flight to Paris on 12 June 1942 in a Beaufighter of 236 Squadron, including comments on horses and cows seen on the way, and the use of the Eiffel Tower as a navigation point. He describes the flight over Paris, during which the observer, Sergeant Fern, dropped two French flags and they strafed the Ministry of Marine, then in use by the Germans.
