Sergeant Cleaver - Bombing a German ship
Recording in which Sergeant Cleaver, a Canadian bomb-aimer, briefly describes his training in Canada before giving an account of an attack on a German supply ship off the Dutch coast.
Sergeant Cleaver remembers how he trained as a bomb-aimer in Canada, using small wooden targets on Lake Erie which he found it difficult to hit. He then describes an operational flight off the Dutch coast, during which he and his crew located, attacked and sank a German supply ship. He describes anti-aircraft fire, fighter attack and the sight of bombs hitting the ship.
