Flying Officer Hill recalls his first raid on Berlin, as a wireless operator in an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley, and explains how subsequent raids, including some flown in Halifaxes, have been different. He describes flak, searchlights and a raid flown with Wing Commander Cheshire as pilot, during which they were surprised by the lack of anti-aircraft fire.
