Unofficial 19 Squadron, RAF Regiment shoulder badge
Shoulder badge dating from the 1990s when 19 Squadron RAF Regiment were operating the Rapier surface-to-air missile system.
The badge is a play on the squadron badge which depicts an eagle's head within a wreath of thorns. In this badge the eagle is an American eagle wearing a top hat with the flags of the United States of America and Britain, with the wording 'Uncle Sam' SAMS' in this case SAM is Surface-to-Air Missiles, as 19 Squadron provided ground based air defence at at an American airfield in the UK.
