The Avro 504N was the final version of the Avro 504 trainer, entering RAF service in 1927. In 1933 the type was replaced by the Avro Tutor. Oxford University Air Squadron was formed in 1925 and received its first Avro 504N and Bristol Fighter in 1927. The squadron held an annual summer camp which was held at RAF Manston in 1929.
