In April 1944, Wg Cdr Martin was moved to No. 515 Squadron where he mostly flew DeHallivand Mosquitos. In June 1944, many of his operations were in providing tactical support to troops on the ground. His logbook shows attacks against enemy installations, including seaplane bases. On the night of 5/6 June 1944, he flew a bombing mission to Creil and attacked a motor convoy in support of the D-Day landings.
