Target information folder prepared by the Air Ministry Target Section giving details of the important steel works at Duisburg, Germany.
Duisburg, a key industrial hub in the Ruhr Valley due to its steelworks, was repeatedly targeted during the Second World War. The most significant attacks occurred on 14 and 15 October 1944, as part of Operation Hurricane. During these two raids, more than 9,000 tons of bombs were dropped on the city by over 2,000 Bomber Command aircraft, causing extensive damage to both Duisburg and its steel production facilities
