Target folder, operation number GF. 2357, Lauta, 1942-1944
Target information folder prepared by the Air Ministry Target Section giving details of the aluminium works at Lauta, near Dresden.
Despite being one of the largest aluminium works in Germany, Lauta was only specifically targeted by aircraft of Bomber Command once, when nine Armstrong Whitworth Whitleys attacked the works on the night 22/23 September 1940. Consolidated Liberators of the 8th Air Force (USAAF) attacked the works on 16 January 1945.
