SD, Chaplain, Ptn 1921
This cap badge was worn by RAF chaplains, all commissioned officers. The RAF Chaplaincy Branch is represented by a black cross on wings with RAF monogram below the king’s crown.
Chaplains wore normal service dress with a black cassock waistcoat and white clerical collar. The Chaplaincy Branch was created shortly after the establishment of the RAF on 1 April 1918.
