Air Marshal Sir Harold ‘Micky’ Martin’s funeral was held on 4 January 1989 at St Clement Danes, the Central Church of the Royal Air Force.
Micky Martin was a highly decorated pilot who took part in the Dambusters raid in May 1943 with No. 617 Squadron. His medals, now in the RAF Museum collection, were shown during the funeral. Micky’s friend and fellow highly decorated pilot, Group Captain Leonard Cheshire, delivered an address.
