All the King's Horsas (Gliding in the war years)
Film in which various training and combat gliders demonstrate their capabilities for King George VI. Hotspur and Horsa troop-carrying combat gliders are seen on the ground and in the air.
Gliders perform aerobatics and pass low overhead before landing. Parachutists jump from Armstrong Whitworth Whitley aircraft and King George VI talks to service personnel before inspecting a General Aircraft Hotspur glider. The royal party then goes on to inspect an Airspeed Horsa troop-carrying glider. Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle tug aircraft land, taxi and are connected to Horsas by tow ropes before launching. Horsas land and a jeep and trailer are unloaded.
