Daimler-Benz DB 605A Engine
Large twelve cylinder inverted Vee liquid-cooled German World War Two aero-engine. As used on the Messerschmitt Bf 109G.
The DB 605 featured a hollow propeller shaft. This allowed a canon to be positioned so that it fired through an opening in the spinner, without the need for an un-aerodynamic external pod or bulge.
