Aircraft recognition training - Hunter
A number of RAF aircraft are seen at the 1953 Coronation Review at RAF Odiham, including Hawker Hunter fighter aircraft. Film and animated diagrams highlight the Hunter’s key recognition features.
Footage of the 1953 Coronation Review at RAF Odiham shows airmen on parade and aircraft, including Vampires, Washingtons, Lincolns and Meteors, on display. Lincolns, Meteors and Hawker Hunter fighter aircraft make flypasts and Hunters are seen in air-to-air footage, landing and on the ground as the narrator points out various recognition features. Test pilot Neville Duke is seen in the cockpit of a Hunter and animated diagrams are also used.
