Aircraft recognition charts were an essential training tool in learning to recognise aircraft. They depicted silhouettes of both allied and enemy aircraft and were used to help military personnel quickly identify whether an aeroplane was friendly or hostile. The Lockheed Constellation was a military transport aircraft. The Constellation C-69 was fitted with four Wright R-3350-35 Duplex-Cyclone 18-cylinder engines.
