Ministry of Aircraft Production aircraft recognition chart of a Blackburn Firebrand Mark IV (Centaurus). Issue 2, February 1946. (Superseding Firebrand III).
Aircraft recognition charts were an essential training tool in learning to recognise aircraft. They depicted silhouettes of both allied and enemy aircraft and were used to help military personnel quickly identify whether an aeroplane was friendly or hostile. The Blackburn Firebrand was a British naval strike fighter aircraft used by the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy. The Mark IV Firebrand was fitted with a Bristol Centaurus IX or Centaurus 57 engine.
