Aircraft Recognition Chart: Beaufighter II (2-Merlin)
Ministry of Aircraft Production aircraft recognition chart of a Bristol Beaufighter Mark II (2-Merlin). Issue I, September 1941.
Aircraft recognition charts were an essential training tool in learning to recognise aircraft. They depicted silhouettes of both allied and enemy aircraft and were used to help military personnel quickly identify whether an aeroplane was friendly or hostile. The Bristol Beaufighter was a two-seat multi-role aircraft. The Beaufighter Mark II was employed as a night fighter. The Mark II was fitted with two Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engines.
