Aircraft Recognition Chart: Flamingo
Ministry of Aircraft Production aircraft recognition chart of a De Havilland DH.95 Flamingo (2-Perseus). Issue I, August 1941.
Aircraft recognition charts were an essential training tool in learning to recognise aircraft. They depicted silhouettes of both allied and enemy aircraft and were used to help military personnel quickly identify whether an aeroplane was friendly or hostile. The De Havilland DH.95 Flamingo was a twin-engined monoplane airliner aircraft. The Flamingo was fitted with two Bristol Perseus XVI engines. The Flamingo was used by military and civilian operators. Civilian operators of the Flamingo included the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), British Air Transport Ltd (BAT) and Jersey Airways.
