Aircraft Recognition Chart: Halifax II (4-Merlin)

Aircraft recognition charts were an essential training tool in learning to recognise aircraft. They depicted silhouettes of both allied and enemy aircraft and were used to help military personnel quickly identify whether an aeroplane was friendly or hostile. The Handley Page Halifax was a four-engined heavy bomber aircraft. The Halifax Mark II was fitted with four Rolls-Royce Merlin engines.
