Aircraft Recognition Chart: Mosquito II (Merlin)
Ministry of Aircraft Production aircraft recognition chart of a De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito Mark II. Issue I, July 1942.
Aircraft recognition charts were an essential training tool in learning to recognise aircraft. They depicted silhouettes of both allied and enemy aircraft and were used to help military personnel quickly identify whether an aeroplane was friendly or hostile. The De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito was a twin-engined, multi-role aircraft. The Mosquito Mark II was primarily used as a night fighter. The Mosquito Mark II was fitted with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.
