Recording of an interview with Frank Burrows
Interview by Squadron Leader Jackson Dymond with Frank Burrows, who served in the RAF as a carpenter and physical training instructor between 1919 and 1956.
Frank Burrows joined the RAF in 1919, training as an aero-carpenter before qualifying as a physical training instructor. He served for five years with 20 Squadron in India, was promoted to warrant officer in 1939 and spent much of the Second World War at Heliopolis and in South Africa. He tells a number of anecdotes relating to service life throughout his time in the RAF.
