Sir Dermot Boyle's speech briefly describes the origins of the RAF Museum, the selection of a site, the involvement of John Tanner, the consideration of Upavon as a temporary site and constraints imposed by the Treasury. He goes on to talk about the design of the Museum buildings and the importance of the Museum's staff. The Museum's director, Dr John Tanner, then speaks and makes a presentation.
