Interview with Joseph Helingoe, who joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1915 and served as an aircraft mechanic and pilot with 11 and 83 Squadrons, flying FB5 and FE2b aircraft.
Joseph Helingoe joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1915 and was posted to 11 Squadron at Netheravon. He recalls his work with FB5 aircraft, flying as an air gunner and then a pilot, and conversion to the FE2b. He goes on to give an account of his post-war career, working in various aviation roles in the United States.
