Recording of an interview with Mr Markham, 9 April 1971
Interview with Mr Markham, who served as an engine fitter in the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Air Force, working with Felixstowe flying boats.
Mr Markham joined the Royal Flying Corps as an engine fitter in December 1917, training at Cranwell and serving at Netheravon before being posted to the School of Air Navigation at Calshot in 1920, where he worked with Felixstowe F.5 flying boats. He also mentions the training of Japanese officers at Calshot, direction finding trials and flying boat maintenance and handling on the water.
