Interview with Air Commodore John Oliver, who served as a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps and RAF during the First World War.
John Oliver joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1917, training at Denham, Oxford, Netheravon and Upavon. He was an instructor at Upavon, Wing Examining Officer 33 Wing, Chief Flying Instructor of 5 Flying School, in India with 27 and 60 Squadrons and 1 (Indian) Wing, Chief Test Pilot at the Home Aircraft Depot, Air Ministry overseer for Rolls-Royce, a staff officer in Cairo and second in command of RAF Heliopolis.
