Interview with Wing Commander R D Pexton who served as a pilot in the RAF before and during the Second World War, flying Spitfires, Gladiators, Hurricanes, Stirlings and Lancasters.
Wg Cdr Pexton joined the RAF Reserves in the 1930s and joined 615 Squadron in 1939. He served in France, was evacuated from Dunkirk and was later a staff pilot at RAF Cranwell. He was an instructor at 34 Flying Training School in Canada, working with Jackson Dymond. before converting to bombers, flying Lancasters with 61 Squadron. He commanded a satellite airfield of RAF Turnhouse before demobilisation.
