Recording of an interview with Captain R C S Reid, 3 July 1979
Interview by Squadron Leader Jackson Dymond and Ian Scott-Hill with Captain R C S Reid, who worked as a civilian airline pilot before, during and after the Second World War.
Captain Reid’s account of his career includes experience of Armstrong Whitworth Argosies and Atalantas in Africa. He later flew Short Scylla, Vickers Vellox, Saro Cloud and Short Calcutta aircraft between England and destinations including Gibraltar, West Africa and Sri Lanka. He flew D.H.86A aircraft between Croydon and European destinations and also worked as a ground engineer.
