Interview with Sir Kenneth Porter, who trained at Halton and Cranwell and served in 2 Squadron before injury ended flying career. He was then a signals officer.
Sir Kenneth trained as a Halton Apprentice and won a place at Cranwell. He served with 2 Squadron at Old Sarum flying Atlas aircraft and trained to fly the Fairey IIIF with the Fleet Air Arm but ended his flying career due to a broken ankle. He returned to 2 Squadron as signals officer, was Chief Signals Officer at Balloon Command and Deputy Chief Signals Officer, 11 Group, Fighter Command.
