Interview with Group Captain Leonard Somerville Snaith, who served in the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force as a draughtsman, aero-engine fitter and pilot from 1917.
Gp Capt Snaith outlines his career from joining the Royal Flying Corps as a boy entrant in 1917. As a pilot, he flew with the RAF’s High Speed Flight and was a test pilot at Felixstowe. He served with 70 Squadron in Iraq and Egypt, commanded 83 Squadron at Turnhouse and tested aircraft in the US. He commanded 231 Wing in Italy, RAF Khormaksar and the Empire Test Pilots’ School.
