Defensive Radio Warfare (Radar Aspects) / Anti-Jamming Procedures at Control Stations - Recognition of jamming signals
Film in which several different methods of radar jamming are described and illustrated for the benefit of RAF radar operators. This includes ‘Window’ and simple, amplitude-modulated, frequency-modulated and pulse-modulated methods.
Radar towers and radar operators are seen as the narrator comments on the nature of radar jamming and the disruption of signals. The appearance of jamming on a radar screen is shown, the use of aluminium strips, known as ‘Window’ is illustrated through its deployment from a Wellington bomber aircraft and the narrator gives advice to Type 13 operators. The features of simple, amplitude-modulated, frequency-modulated and pulse-modulated methods are outlined.
