Royal Air Force Kinloss At Home, Saturday 15 September 1956
One shilling souvenir programme, with a lucky number, for 1956 ‘At Home’ day held at Royal Air Force Kinloss near the village of Kinloss, on the Moray Firth in the north east of Scotland.
The programme includes information on the activities available throughout the day, a brief account of the Battle of Britain, the work of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, the units based at Kinloss along with photographs of life there and Royal Air Force Kinloss’ work with Mountain Rescue. The station at Royal Air Force Kinloss was established in 1938 as a Flying Training School, in 1940 it transferred to Bomber Command and finally in 1947 transferred to Coastal Command.
