Many nations have gone out of their way to show their gratitude towards RAF personnel who fought to liberate them.
This pennant was given to Pilot Officer Gordon Parkin, one of a number of Battle of Britain veterans who, in 1946, were invited as guests of the Belgian Government to take part in a series of events to honour their contribution.
