A raid is planned at 1 Group Headquarters and Lancaster bomber aircraft of 170 Squadron at RAF Hemswell are prepared for the operation. Lancasters are fuelled, serviced and loaded with bombs and aircrew are briefed. The crews board their aircraft and are seen at their positions and the Lancasters taxi and take off. Aircrew are seen at their positions while over the target before returning to land and for debriefing.
