Air Commodore Cynthia Fowler served in various administrative and leadership roles including deputy director of the Womens’ Royal Air Force and director of recruiting as women took on more roles.
Cynthia Fowler was flight commander at the Officer Cadet Training Unit, RAF Henlow, commanded the personnel management squadron at RAF Halton and the Administration Wing at RAF Henlow and worked with the Directorate of Quartering on service housing. She was deputy director of the Women’s Royal Air Force from 1989, with responsibility for the welfare of service personnel around the world and for released hostages during the 1991 Gulf War.
