Recorded interview with Peter Willis, who flew Hudson and Warwick aircraft while serving with 269 Squadron in the UK and Azores during the later part of the Second World War.
Peter Willis remembers Home Guard service and the Battle of Britain before joining the RAF. After training in the UK and Canada as a pilot in Anson and Oxford aircraft he was posted to 269 Squadron of Coastal Command at St Eval, operating Hudson and Warwick aircraft in the reconnaissance and air-sea rescue roles. He remembers a surfaced U-boat at the time of the German surrender and his RAF discharge.
