Recorded interview with Flight Lieutenant Tim Pembrey, who flew as co-pilot and captain in Hercules aircraft with 24 and 70 Squadrons during the 1970s and 1980s.
Tim Pembrey, in the captain’s seat of Hercules XV202 at the RAF Museum Midlands, comments on cockpit instruments and controls. He remembers selection and training as an RAF pilot at RAF Biggin Hill, Cranwell, Oakington and Thorney Island in Jet Provost, Varsity and Hercules aircraft. He then flew Hercules with 24 and 70 Squadrons around the world, including the Falkland Islands after the 1982 conflict, and dropped paratroopers on exercise.
