Recorded interview with David Bright, who flew as air engineer in Hercules aircraft during the 1970s, including evacuation from Cyprus, humanitarian aid flights in Nepal and work with airborne forces.
David Bright explains how he joined the RAF as an electrical fitter apprentice. He then trained as a flight engineer and flew in Hercules aircraft of 30 Squadron. He describes the role of a Hercules flight engineer and Hercules operations, including the evacuation of civilians from Cyprus, humanitarian flights in Nepal and aspects of work with paratroopers. He then compares his RAF experience to his later work for British Airways.
