Recorded interview with Nick Nicholls, who flew as a flight engineer in Hercules aircraft, including casualty evacuation, famine relief and the Falklands War. He also flew in Germany and Africa.
Nick Nicholls explains how he joined the RAF as an aircraft electrical fitter before training as a flight engineer. He explains the role of a flight engineer and remembers casualty evacuation and famine relief operations with 30 Squadron. After serving as an instructor on the Hercules conversion unit, he participated in the airlift of supplies to Ascension Island during the 1982 Falklands War. He also flew in Africa and Germany.
