Arthur Taylor served as an RAF ground wireless operator and fitter during and after the Second World War. He fought in France in 1940 and was safely evacuated from Dunkirk.
Arthur Taylor joined the RAF as a ground wireless operator. In 1940 he served in France with a British Army artillery unit, retreated to Dunkirk and was evacuated from there. He served at RAF Lympne and RAF Hawkinge during the Battle of Britain and later with 116 Squadron operating Lysander aircraft. He was a wireless instructor in South Africa and after the war supported 54 Squadron’s flight across the Atlantic.
